A fabulous 185-degree Circular Fisheye conversion lens was introduced from Raynox, called DCR-CF187PRO, DCR-CF185PRO Once again, Raynox filled the need of advanced image creators. Upon mounting on the zoom lens, it opens the field of view to the ultra wide angle, the diagonal fisheye angle and to the circular fisheye images. A very interesting feature of this particular lens makes it possible to change the scenery from an ultra wide angle view to a diagonal fisheye and to the circular fisheye or the other way, by zooming the lens.

DCR-CF187PRO comes with 4-adapter rings for 43mm/ 52mm/ 55mm/ 58mm filter sizes

DCR-CF185PRO comes with 2-adapter rings for 52mm/ and 58mm filter sizes

There is no difference in the quality of lens between DCR-CF187PRO and DCR-CF185PRO.
DCR-CF185PRO was discontinued its production in Apr/08

4-Group-6-element High Definition Design

Shifts Diagonal to Circular Fisheye Image*

Four adapter rings included**

To achieve a Circular Fish-Eye image, the focal length of the camera's lens must be about 36mm or shorter (equivalent of 35mm film format). Otherwise, it may not make a complete Circular Fish-Eye image. *There are some cameras you can shoot a Circular Fish-Eye picture but not a Diagonal Fish-Eye image. Video camcorder may not achieve circular fisheye image. **DCR-CF187PRO

Upon mounting on the zoom lens, The DCR-CF187PRO/DCR-CF185PRO opens the field of view to the ultra wide angle, the diagonal fisheye angle and to the circular fisheye images. It's a completely new high definition lens made of the high index optical coated lens with a 4-group/6-element formula to obtain the maximum resolution power of 500 lines/mm at center (MTF30%), while it has low dispersion.

The Fish-Eye lens is a precision optical instrument, assembled with critical alignment tolerance. Do not subject it to severe shock and to the conditions of excessive cold, heat or humidity. Do not disassemble the lens.
See the focusing on the LCD monitor. Thru the optical finder, you cannot capture the whole broadened angle of view.
To achieve a Circular Fish-Eye image, the focal length of the camera's lens must be about 36mm or shorter (equivalent of 35mm film format). Otherwise, it may not make a complete Circular Fish-Eye image. There are cameras you can shoot a Circular Fish-Eye picture but not a Diagonal Fish-Eye image while the DCR-CF187PRO is attached.
The built-in remote control system of the camera may not function properly, when the Fish-Eye lens is attached. It is recommended to make a trial shooting before you use the remote control system.
Please remove the DCR-CF187PRO lens and holder from the camera after completing your shooting.
There would be a possibility of viewing the ' vignetting ' on PC monitor screen, even though it did not appear on the camera's LCD monitor.
Do not use the built-in flash while the DCR-CF187PRO is attached.
The DCR-CF187PRO lens weighs 560g (1.24 lbs) and it's a rather heavy stuff and may limit the way of shooting condition. Be careful in handling the camera with the lens attached, such as supporting or protecting the lens by your own hand.
Screw-thread pitch size is 0.75mm unless specified.
Although you may detect a white dot in the DCR-CF187PRO lens sometimes when looking into from the front, but it's not out of normal and would not affect any of image quality.
The specifications and cosmetic designs may change without a notice.

Exposing the conversion lens to a warm atmosphere in an instant way from the cold area may create some dew on and inside the lens. When it happened inside the lens, keep the lens in a dry area till the dew disappear before using. Repeating such may leave dirt spot - (mildew) and affect the image.
All of Raynox conversion lenses are proudly made in Japan. At our owned manufacturing subsidiary, every stage of production is rigorously checked and tested so that the lens elements compensate effectively for astigmatism, distortion and spherical aberration.... for an excellent image quality.
The lens is neither made for dust-free nor moisture/water-proof.
